A little about me

Here’s a richer, more engaging “About Me” that keeps your voice but adds personality, warmth, and a little humor ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿ’• About Me

Hi, I’m Sandi.

I’m what I like to call a “sixty-ish” woman—which means I’ve earned every laugh line, every lesson, and yes… every opinion ๐Ÿ˜„

I split my time between the Midwest and the South, depending on the weather—because at this stage in life, I’ve decided I will not suffer through seasons I don’t enjoy if I don’t have to.
Cold? I migrate.
Warm sunshine? I thrive.
It’s called balance.

๐Ÿ’Š My Health Journey (The Real, Honest Version)

For many years, I’ve lived with type 2 diabetes—and if I’m being completely honest, for a long time… it wasn’t well controlled.

Life gets busy.
Habits creep in.
And sometimes we tell ourselves, “I’ll deal with it later.”

Sound familiar?

But recently, I made some changes—real ones.
Not perfect. Not overnight. But consistent.

And for the first time in a long time, I’ve gotten things under control.

Along the way, I’ve picked up:

  • practical tips
  • small habits that actually stick
  • and mindset shifts that make a difference

Nothing extreme. Nothing unrealistic.
Just real-life ways to feel better and stay on track.

๐ŸŒฟ Why I Started This Blog

This space is for real women living real lives.

If you’re:

  • navigating aging
  • dealing with a chronic condition
  • trying to feel better in your body
  • or just needing a little encouragement

You’re in the right place.

There’s no judgment here. None.

I’m not perfect, and I’m not pretending to be.
I’ll be candid about my journey—the good, the messy, and everything in between.

And yes… there’s always a chance I might go on a little rant now and then.
Just hang in there with me when that happens ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ˜„

๐Ÿ‘จ‍๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿ‘ง My People (My Why)

I have three grown sons, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and one very special granddaughter who has completely stolen my heart.

And then there’s my husband…

He is truly the love of my life ❤️
The kind of person who came into my world at exactly the right time—and changed everything.

He supported me, lifted me up, and honestly… helped save me when I needed it most.

For that, I’ll always be grateful.

☕ The Things I Love

When I’m not working on becoming my best self (or figuring things out as I go), you’ll find me enjoying the simple things:

  • ๐Ÿ“š Reading (a lot… like 25 books a year when I’m on track)
  • ๐Ÿงถ Crocheting (something about it just relaxes me)
  • ๐ŸŽฌ Movie nights
  • ๐Ÿฝ️ Eating out (because cooking every night is overrated)
  • ๐Ÿท A good glass of wine
  • ✈️ Traveling—which I fully plan to do more of very soon

✨ My Philosophy

Life is good.

It’s not always perfect—but it’s good.

And more importantly… it’s short.

So I’m choosing to:

  • take better care of myself
  • enjoy the little things
  • keep learning
  • and help others along the way

If I can inspire even one person to feel better, do better, or just feel a little less alone…

Then this space is doing exactly what I hoped it would.

Life is short. Make it count. ๐Ÿ’•
