Avon Calling


I’m pretty sure most of you have heard of Avon.

Like… classic Avon. The one you remember from back in the day—maybe your dad or grandpa had that lineup of fancy cologne bottles sitting on the dresser like a whole collection 😂

But let me tell you something…

Avon is not the same Avon anymore.

They’ve had a serious glow-up.

I started poking around again out of curiosity, and now? I’m kind of hooked. Their skincare line, Anew, is honestly impressive—especially if your skin is a little more… experienced (we’re not saying aging, we’re being respectful here 😌).

It’s one of those lines that actually feels like it’s doing something without being complicated or crazy expensive.

And the makeup? Surprisingly good.

I’m not a full-glam everyday kind of person—never have been. I lean more tomboy most days… throw on some mascara, maybe pretend I tried 😅

BUT when I do decide to clean up a little?

Avon is one of my go-tos.

Their waterproof mascaras actually stay put (which is saying something), and their lip liners? If you know, you know—especially if your lips have decided to be a little less… defined over the years.

They’ve also stepped things up with fashion pieces and their newer scents are SO good. Like… “wait, THIS is Avon?” kind of good.

Honestly, it’s one of those brands you think you already know… until you take a second look.

And then you’re like… okay, I didn’t see that coming 👀

No real updates

  It’s been awhile, been trying to find my audience. No big updates, except that I’ll be going back South by the end of summer, this time to stay. A little about me

My name is Sandi and I’m a Sixtyish female living in the Midwest and the South depending on the weather! I have suffered with type 2 diabetes for many years mostly uncontrolled, I have recently gotten it under control and have found some great tips, tricks and positive things to maintain. Here on this blog I’m hoping to inspire, help and answer questions others who have struggled or are just aging and need a positive vibe. There is no judgement here, I will be candid about my own journey both with aging and my chronic condition. There is always the possibility that I might rant a bit, bear with me please when that happens! 🙃😄 I have 3 grown sons, one daughter-in-law and one granddaughter. I have a great husband who is truly the love of my life ❤️ he saved me when I needed it, I’m so grateful.  I enjoy reading, crocheting , movie nights, eating out, wine and traveling; which I plan to do more of very soon. Life is good, life is also short, make it count!

A lot of things

  Today’s post is about a lot of things. First is eating right, I suck at that, I’d much rather snack throughout the day than cook! Thankfully I have a husband that is a tremendous cook, but with that I eat too much, soooooooooo, I’ve decided to go on the no carb, high protein Factor diet, so far it’s great, food is very tasty and there are lots of choices. I eat 3 meals and if I have to snack I eat almonds or vegetables. I’m maintaining a even blood sugar level being on that, so there is a suggestion for someone that needs one 😀 Next is being social. All my life up until about 5 years ago I was a social person, in my childhood and teens I was outside until I was called in, I was active in my church, choir ,camp, volunteering…. I had tons of friends. In my adult life I worked and went out nightly, had playdates with other moms when I had kids and once agin was active in church and volunteering. Now, I’m a home body, I have maybe 3 close friends, I’m happy, reading,crocheting,going...
